Memberships
The Society was formed in 1985 and offers members:
- 4 Journals per year (either printed or an eJournal, depending on type of membership)
- Monthly meetings with guest speakers (except August)
- A One Day Conference with guest speakers (generally in May)
- Organised visits to Island places of historical interest
- A Members Area on the website which includes a number of exclusive databases and a Journal archive.
- A way to connect with other family historians and those of your family name worldwide.
- A Facebook group (which is also open to non-members).
eJournal Membership
Up to 12 months* access to members-only areas of the site and access to the online journals archive.
Subscription rate displayed is from 2022 onwards. Anyone joining on 31st October (or later) will benefit from membership to 31st December the following year.

UK Membership
Up to 12 months* access to members-only areas of the site, access to the online journals archive and 4 printed journals delivered to your door during the year.
Subscription rate displayed is from 2022 onwards and will only cover the four paper journals published during that year (subject to availability; late-joining members may prefer to start with an eJournal membership). Anyone joining on 31st October (or later) will benefit from membership to 31st December the following year.

Rest of the World Membership
Up to 12 months* access to members-only areas of the site, access to the online journals archive and 4 printed journals delivered to your door during the year.
