Janice Heppenstall will present a talk entitled

The Thoroughly Rotten Unreformed House of Commons.

It looks at the different rules for parliamentary boroughs and counties
in terms of who had the right to vote.
It covers the whole country, so will be of interest, I hope, to people
with ancestry in other parts of the UK, but it homes in on the 3 Rotten
and Pocket boroughs of the Isle of Wight, so there is local history
interest.
It will end with a brief overview of the kinds of documents all of this
generated in terms of our ancestors.
