The Auxiliary Units of the Home Guard on the Isle of Wight
About this Event
The Auxiliary Units were formed in WW II as a secret group of highly trained guerrilla fighters whose primary task was to resist any invasion by German forces.
The Isle of Wight had a number of patrols, but by their very secrecy, little was known until recently. Sam Biles will outline the history of the Units on the Island and recount some of their stories.
Doors open at 1.30 pm, Speaker at 2 pm or thereabouts.
