HOLDAWAY, Charlotte Leah Aldridge
TO THE GLORY OF GOD & IN MEMORY OF | CHARLOTTE LEAH ALDRIDGE HOLDAWAY
BORN AT GLEN BROOKE IN THIS PARISH | [...] 1867 DIED THERE 25 JULY 1912
THIS WINDOW IS DEDICATED BY HER | BROTHER HENLY RALPH TEMPLE-ELLIS

Charlotte Leah Nobbs married William Thomas Aldridge Holdaway in 1893.

Caroline Dudley writes (in 2015):

Maria (Temple-)Ellis (her maiden name was Temple and she appears to have called herself Maria Temple-Ellis rather than Maria Ellis when she moved to Freshwater) died in 1906 and left all her money to Henly Ralph Nobbs, born in Wroxall in 1857. His sister was Charlotte Nobbs, who married William Holdaway in 1893. Maria (Temple-)Ellis must have met Henly Ralph Nobbs in 1881, when he was a schoolmaster in Albury, Surrey, as she and her daughter were living in Albury then as well. At the time of the 1901 census, she was living at Sunnyside, Freshwater Bay, and Henly Ralph Nobbs is listed at the same address as a visitor. He subsequently became a schoolmaster in Freshwater. Maria Temple-Ellis left Henly Ralph Nobbs all her money (over £8,000) in her will but also requested that he change his name to Henly Ralph Temple-Ellis. Therefore, Henly Ralph Temple-Ellis was Charlotte Holdaway's brother (not a possible godfather). Charlotte Leah Nobbs married William Thomas Aldridge Holdaway in 1893.

The various name changes make it all rather complicated! It is interesting to find out how Henly Ralph Temple-Ellis spent some of his inheritance. When he died in 1936, just £801 11s was left.
